Jonathan is a pragmatic architect who is able to comprehend complex technical solutions and is always willing to assist colleagues and partners meet mutually beneficial results.
I worked with Jonathan as part of a sub group of the UK CTO Council and found him to be strong technologist with a good strategic mind set and always willing to innovate and share ideas. Jonathan brings a refreshing thought process to the discussion table and has a deep understanding of the information and technical assurance challenges that face the UK Government and wider public sector.
I worked with Jonathan on very difficult project spanning 18 months. Jonathan was the security consultant and technical lead for the client. I worked closely with Jonathan who had a practical and pragmatic view of the issues we faced. He provided valued advice and guidance which was both in keeping with the business requirements and the technical/security parameters. I would happily work with Jonathan again and recommend him without hesitation.
Jonathan has a very good and very broad technical understanding and also a very good understanding and appreciation of the needs of a business. He worked with me on a number of remote access solutions and also on the security and infrastructure elements of a tender evaluation exercise. His broad skill set and ability to articulate the most technical of issues in a language understood by the business proved invaluable.
Jonathan is one of those rare breeds; he combines an in-depth expertise in technology with the added ability to communicate with a clear and business relevant manor. I have worked with Jonathan for over 8 years; he has never let me down.
I worked for Jon as part of a team of security architects and consultants on a major HMG IT outsourcing programme. Jon is a supportive manager with the ability to inspire a team and get results under pressure and he is able to combine leadership with the ownership of multiple competing responsibilities. Jon has a deep technical knowledge of IT and information security, including key areas such as cloud, networks and protective monitoring technology. He complements this with a solid grasp of information security management processes and compliance requirements.
I had great pleasure in working with Jonathan as part of a small team of Security Architects. Jonathan held the role of Lead Security Architect on a large and complex IT outsourcing programme within a large HMG Department. Jonathan is a highly capable, experienced and consummate IT Security professional. Jonathan is a caring, supportive and outgoing leader, passionate about getting the job done and driving high quality performance within his area of responsibility.
I worked with Jonathan on a number of projects in a secure environment over a three year period. Not only did he demonstrate excellent technical knowledge but, when considering potential solutions, always remembered that at the end of any technical solution were real people trying to do a real job. He often took time out to sit with users to fully understand their issues and worked closely with them to secure the best possible outcome, both from a technical and business perspective – something many “techies” forget to do! He is very conscientious and very approachable. He readily offers advice and guidance and challenges when required. He made a significant contribution to the team and it was a pleasure to work with him.
Jonathan worked at BIS (formerly DTI) for a number of years in various technical architect roles, particularly related to remote access solutions but also developing into an enterprise-wide role. He has deep technical knowledge and understanding and is able to translate this into focused advice for an organisation to meet its objectives. He can be relied upon to give evidence-based advice not tainted by political influence. His early work was an important contribution to delivery of a cutting-edge Citrix-based remote access solution. His latter role as enterprise systems architect was based more on analysis and advice than delivery and suited him well. He only left BIS because of changes in Government policy around contracting and, if we had been permitted, we would have retained his services.
Jonathan was a valuable member of the technical team. His ‘can do’ approach coupled with a deep technical knowledge was appreciated and valued by his technical colleagues as well the wider business. Tasks were always completed in a conscientious manner and seen through to the end. His positive outlook and cheerful personality meant the team was never short of a laugh. Jonathan was always prepared to engage and put the required effort in both during the working day, but also in his own time in order to keep current with the latest technical information in a fast moving field.
